Bump Mapping in ZBrush 2
|
This tutorial explains how in ZBrush 2 you can paint the details as Black and White texture map on your mesh, export it and use it as Bump map in you favourite 3d package. 1.First thing you wanna do to paint the bump map is you need to load the 'Bump Viewer Material, in your material slot. This material is located in ZMaterials folder called "BumpViewerMaterial.zmt". Load it. 2. Once you have the bump material loaded on your model, then you want to create a gray texture for it. Which is mid gray value of RGB = 127 each. Why, cause when u've got mid gray value, whatever you paint white is height and black is indent. 3.Then in texture menu, choose preper texture size like 1024 or 2048 and click new. You should be able to see a gray texture in Texture tab on left. 4. Now to paint the details, you may need to go into Projection Master. Before clicking Drop Now, make sure to select Colors and NOT Deformation. 5. Once you are in PM, if you choose white color to paint, you are painting height, if you choose black that will be depth. But good thing is, you will see those colors as details, and not b&w color, as you have bump viewer material loaded. 6. Once you are happy with the desired detsils, get out of Projection Master and export the texture image, which is ready to be used as Bump Map. Also remember to flip the texture vertically. Enjoy :)
